2023 Annual Quilting Retreat
El Camino Quilters held its annual quilting retreat in February at the Vina de Lestonnac retreat center in Temecula. Once again Jo Anne Foster with the help of Linda Pupols put together a fantastic four days of quilting, friendship, prizes and fun. We had 44 members attending and everyone agree it was the best retreat ever. Here are some of the highlights in pictures taken by the members.
The venue, the Vina de Lestonnac retreat center, is set in the stunning wine country of Temecula. Everyday we were greeted by the beautiful scenery.
Tranquil vineyards
Stunning sunsets
Hot air balloons
The food at Vina de Lestonnac is one of the real treats of the retreat. Of course, it is especially wonderful not to have to stop quilting to cook and clean up from meals. And the meals are excellent. Everyone loves the fresh hot scones that the staff brings to the workrooms early on Sunday morning.
This year the scones were butterscotch. My favorite, yum!
And everyone gets a lot of work done, whether they are part of the early birds, the late night quilters, the quiet room, or the party crowd.
Projects range from beautiful quilts
to totes and bags
and plenty of pillow cases for Cuddle.
But the best part of retreat are the friendships, made and strenghtened, as we sew, visit, eat, sleep (a little) and laugh.
Here's to next year!
