Cuddle will be focusing on placemats during the months of June and July. We have been cutting up lots of 13”x17” pieces to be used for these cheerful projects. The city of Oceanside has a very large (150+) homebound senior population that along with their holiday meal are gifted with one of our placemats. Both Oceanside and San Marcos Senior Centers also have holiday lunches where our placemats add lots of cheer to these events. Each Senior center hosts 100 diners.

If you have been doing your math that adds up to 350 placemats that we hand off in late November or early December. Last year a few more were requested by each of the centers so we always make more just in case.

You can join us at our workshops during the next few months or you can sew your own. We use Christmas fabrics on one side and a choice of any fabric for the back. Batting is used between the fabrics and you can either “birth” it or bind it.

It is difficult to describe the impact that these small gifts have on those who receive them.

Thank you from Cuddle and the Senior Centers.
