President's Letter - February

Hello and Happy February.

It was great to see so many of you brave the rain last month to join us for the first Guild meeting of the year. What an exciting way to kick off the “Year of the Friend” with so many new friends gathered together. I think we set a record by welcoming 16 guests that day!

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work out some of the audio/visual challenges we face at our new venue.  It is our goal to make our meetings a great experience for everyone and we thank you for your suggestions and ideas.

The rainy weather we’ve had has kept me inside quilting and preparing my projects to take along to our February retreat, but it didn’t keep me from making my way to Ontario for the Road to California Quilt Show. I can’t wait to see all the goodies you brought back along with the ideas and inspiration we found there. What a treat! Special thanks to Robin Sutherland for organizing the display, white gloves and ticket sales of our Opportunity Quilt at the Show.

And I hope you got a chance to stop by and say hi to our own Karen Brow-Meier, Guild member and our May program speaker in her Java House Quilts booth.

This month you can begin renewing your Guild Membership for our year which officially begins in March. The amazing team at the Membership Table - Carol, Dana, Ellen and Anna  are ready to assist you. You can download, print and complete your registration form online ahead of time. And remember, you can make your “Dues Dollars” go even further if you can pay by cash or check at the meeting so please plan ahead for that.
