PRESIDENTS’ LETTER MARCH 2022

Here we are in March of 2022, and think how far we’ve come! It was two years ago in March that we had our last in-person guild meeting before the pandemic shut everything down. Since that time, we have quilted away diligently in our homes, attended Zoom guild meetings and workshops, started a new guild facebook page to help keep us in touch with each other, had a virtual facebook retreat, and finally, have gone back to hybrid in-person meetings and workshops, but with a Zoom option for those who were not ready to attend in-person meetings.

After two years, we have come full circle, and it is time to once again to renew your membership in the greatest guild in San Diego County! Our board made a wise decision last year not to require renewals since we were not holding meetings and we wanted to support our members through the challenges of lockdowns and personal crises during this pandemic. Now that we slowly working our way back to normal, we are asking that you support your guild by renewing your membership this month.

It is also important to note that we will be starting sign-ups for our 2023 retreat in May. In order to register for the 2023 retreat, you will need to be a guild member, so don’t forget to send in your renewal application and check!

During the previous year, we made a change to our Board structure. We now have a President Elect. If you haven’t yet met her, I would like to introduce you to Susan Stanchfield who is our new President Elect. She will be presiding at our March guild meeting, so please give her your enthusiastic support! I have been enjoying the opportunity to work with her, and I know you will agree that she is going to make a great President next year!

Happy quilting,
Linda Stanwood
President
