PRESIDENT'S LETTER OCTOBER 2022

Welcome to the fall season fellow quilters.  I don't know about you, but I am enjoying the cooler weather.  It makes me want to sit down at my sewing machine and get back to work on all those holiday quilts.  And maybe I can use some of the wonderful fabric I picked up at the Silent Auction and Mega Sale!

Thank you to all of you who turned out for our Silent Auction and Mega Sale.  Wasn't it fun?  And just so you know, it was wildly successful. Take a look at the article in this issue of Quilt Scraps.  A special thanks goes out to Susan Stanchfield and CeCe Blankenship who worked so hard to organize and run the event.  I had so many people tell me that they were impressed by the organization, the decor, and the wonderful items we had for sale and auction.  Thank you also to everyone who donated and all of you who worked on the fund raiser.  It was also a great introduction to our new meeting venue, the Fields Church.

Our guild meetings will continue to be held at the Fields Church for the next three months.  If you did not make it to the September Silent Auction and Mega Sale, you can find a map showing the location of the Fields Church on the front page of our website, elcaminoquilters.com.  Beginning in January 2023 we will be meeting at the El Corazon Senior Center in Oceanside.  The El Corazon Senior Center will be our new, permanent location.  We will have maps and directions available at the December meeting and on the website beginning in December.

Speaking of the December meeting, we will once again be having our holiday party in December.  Sign up sheets will be available at the October guild meeting.  There is no charge for the holiday party, but you do need be a guild member and you need a reservation in order to attend, so that we have an accurate count for the luncheon.  Be sure to sign up!  It should be lots of fun.

Happy Halloween and Happy Quilting,

Linda Stanwood
