PRESIDENT'S LETTER SEPTEMBER 2022

Hi Quilters!  September has always been a month for me to celebrate.  It's my birthday and my anniversary month.  But this year our Guild has even better reasons to celebrate. This month marks one year that our Guild has successfully been up and running with hybrid in-person/Zoom meetings and in-person workshops.  Hasn't it been great?

Even more important, this month is our giant Silent Auction and Mega Sale.  We have fabric.  We have kits, pre-cuts, patterns, notions, even a sewing machine.  We have auction items, some quilt related like our beautiful friendship group baskets,  and other (very exciting) items that are not just for quilters.  Check out the article in this newsletter for details.

We want to say a huge thank you to Susan Stanchfield and CeCeBlankenship for putting this major fundraising event together for our guild.  And thank you to all of you who volunteered or will volunteer your time and effort to make it a fun, successful event.  Finally, thank you to all of you who donated all this fun stuff.  

Everyone can help make this our biggest fundraiser ever.  Tell your friends and family about it.  Bring a carload of people on September 13 to The Fields Church, 2265 Camino Vida Roble, Carlsbad, CA 92011 between 9:30 and 12:00 and treat yourself to some great stuff!

We have one final reason to celebrate.  Our Guild has found a new permanent home.  Beginning in January of 2023 we will be meeting at the El Corazon Senior Center in Oceanside.  It is a great facility, with plenty of wonderful parking.  Many of you are already familiar with the facility, because our Cuddle group meets there once a month.  What you may not know is that the Senior Center just built a new state-of-the-art meeting room that is the perfect place for us, with room for our current activities and room to grow.
