SUPPLIES AND CUTTING DIRECTIONS

ACCENTS AND CORNERSTONES
Two Fat quarters that go well together. Select one as ACCENT #1 and the other as ACCENT #2. Accent #1 is the five squares, #2 is the four squares. The CORNERSTONES are the small squares between the sashing strips.

ACCENT #1

  • Cut 24 - 3 1/4" squares

ACCENT #2

  • Cut 16 - 3 1/4 squares
  • Press all 40 squares in half, diagonally, with a hard crease.

CORNERSTONES

  • 13 - 1 1/2" contrasting squares.
  • Place the accents and cornerstones in one small zip bag and label "ACCENTS 1 & 2" and "CORNERSTONES".

BLACK 1 1/4 yd.

  • 44 - 4 1/4" squares
  • 12 - 13 1/2" X 1 1/2" strips cut from 13 1/2" strip
  • 26 - 6 1/2" X 1 1/2" strips cut from 6 1/2" strip
  • 10 - 5 1/4" squares
  • 4 - 2 1/2" squares

WHITE 1 3/4 yd.

  • 20 - 6 1/2" squares
  • 8 - 13 1/2" X 6 1/2" rectangles cut from 6 1/2" strip
  • 4 - 3 1/4" squares
  • 10 - 5 1/4" squares
