PROGRAMS & WORKSHOPS Team - 1st Quarter Workshops

The Programs and Workshop‍s Teams have planned some incredible speakers and workshops for our guild in 2023. These talented individuals are sure to inspire you, teach you some new techniques to enhance your current skills, and unlock your creativity so that you stretch beyond your comfort zone!

Our January workshop is being given by Jan Krentz, "Love That LoneStar." Jan is a internationally known and sought after instructor/designer/author who is known for her techniques that make it easier to create the incredible LoneStar block. This classic block would seem straight forward to many people, but when you actually begin piecing it together, you quickly realize there are so many ways for things to go wrong!  Jan has taught hundreds of students across the globe the necessary practical tips, techniques and methods to insure success. She has literally written the book (several in fact) on the topic! **Please Note: Jan has a little bit of prepwork she'd like people to do prior to our class. Please review the supply list and prepared video so you can maximize your hands on time with Jan.

Don't miss the opportunity to learn the best methods for piecing this block together--space is limited. We've learned that Jan is set to retire, so this could be your last chance to get hands-on time with a master of this block!  This workshop is being held Jan 11th at Quilt In A Day from 9:30 - 3:30pm.

Supply List

Our February workshop is Fabulous Faces with Jean Impey.  Join Jean for a fun collage class on faces! You'll learn about composing faces with a minimum of fuss and fabric, and Jean will teach you her special quilting techniques for completing your design, quilting and binding. This is a fantastic opportunity to get out of any creative rut, and discover the fun of faces!  Our workshop will be held February 15th from 9:30am-3:30pm at a special location--Grand Country Quilts, 801 Grand Ave, San Marcos, CA 92078.  The new owners have revamped the location and offerings, and are excited to host us for this special class.

In March, we are holding our ECQ Mini Workshops during our guild meeting. More details to come--but last year's event was so successful, we just had to offer another opportunity to learn techniques and tips from our incredibly talented guildmates!  This is a great opportunity for each of you to bring a friend and introduce them to our guild.  It will be an incredibly fun filled day!

Don't want to miss out on taking these amazing workshops? Register online by logging into our website and going into the Guild calendar feature. You'll be able to select the workshop and register. We will also be available to help register you during our guild meetings.
