Quilt Scraps

TREASURE TABLE TIDBITS

“SUMMERTIME!” is this month’s Treasure Table Theme.

All proceeds go to Cuddle Quilts to purchase batting.  Come see all the new notions, fabric, and patterns we have.  These are the prizes you could win in a drawing at the end of the meeting.  Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.

New this year is our Treasure Basket!  Buy chances to win a basket overflowing with goodies.  Not all are quilting items.  We have tasty ones, practical and beautiful ones, and even some fun surprises.  Each ticket is $5.

We hope to see you at the Treasure Table!

BUS TRIPS

newbus small

Mark your calendars for January 18, 2024! This is the date of the Road to California bus trip. We will begin taking sign-ups for this trip during our September guild meeting. More information about this trip will be available in the September guild newsletter.

The bus trips survey showed overwhelming interest in a Hoffman Fabrics/ M&L bus trip. So, the second bus trip in 2024 will be to Hoffman and M&L Fabrics. Planning will begin in 2024. For now, sit tight and look forward to Road.

IN MEMORY

It is with deep regret that we pass on the news that this last week we lost a friend and fellow quilter. Cynthia Rowe was a prolific contributor of quilts to Cuddle.  As a prior board member, she helped plan our workshops.   She was a cheerful face at our guild meetings and a dear friend of many of our guild members.   Our thoughts are with her family.

President's Letter - July

Welcome to July!  It looks like we may finally be entering our summer season as the weather turns a bit warmer and the May Gray and June Gloom are replaced with longer, sunnier days. It was a delight to see so many of you at the June meeting, even with so many other events taking place.

Many guilds choose to stop meeting together during what becomes a busy travel season but El Camino Quilters will continue to gather through the summer months and we don’t want you to miss the fun.

We have some great programs and workshops coming up so don’t miss the chance to participate. It was an almost full house at Candy Grisham’s “Dresden Reimagined” workshop and it was so inspiring to see all the creativity.

No matter how long you’ve been quilting, there is always a new skill, a new tool or a new way to take fabric apart and put it back together again!

And, while you make a new block or learn a new technique you can make some new friends too!

Be sure to read all the way through our Quilt Scraps this month, VIEW ENTIRE MESSAGE, and check out all the ways you can participate.

Just keep sewing,

Susan Stanchfield
