VIP TIP! Check the diagrams before you sew – the placement of the floral fabric does matter. 😉
- Petals/Half Square Triangle Units - Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of both Tone on Tone 7” squares. Match these to the 7” Floral squares, right sides together, and stitch a scant ¼” from both sides of the drawn line Fig A. Cut apart on the drawn line and press away from the Square up to 6½” and trim dog ears.
- Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the White 2½” squares and on the White 3½” squares.
- VIP- Position the 6½” Half Square Triangle Units exactly as shown in Fig B - it does matter which side the floral is on. Match the White 2½” squares to the bottom left corner. Stitch on the drawn line. Press to the White and trim the seam allowance to ¼”.
Match a 3½” square to the other corner of the large Half Square Triangle Units and sew on the drawn line Fig C.
- Lay out the four sections to match Fig D with the small white triangles in the center and sew the rows together. Press open. Sew the rows together and press the final seam open.
