El Camino Quilter’s Quiltlet Banner

Our guild quiltlet display will hang at our meetings and all quilt functions (such as quilt shows). The goal is for every member to be represented by a quiltlet in addition to your friendship group’s quiltlet.

Your quiltlet is an 81⁄2“ finished square that is pieced, appliquéd, fused, embroidered, or created using any method you wish. Fabrics, colors and techniques used are up to you; let your imagination run wild. Use a design that relates to your interests or that you just like.

Use muslin or other light colored fabric for backing. Write your name, date you joined the guild, and any other pertinent information you wish on the back or make a label. Use any batting you wish.

Cut 2” strips for the binding (approximately 77” in length and 1” folded). Bind the top and bottom as for a quilt. Cut the remaining binding into 2 equal strips about 281⁄2” long. Bind the sides leaving a 10” extension on each corner. Finish these ties by top stitching or whip stitching.
