ROAD TO CALIFORNIA

On the busIt's great to be back at Road to California!  El Camino Quilters came back in style this year with a busload of guild members.  Debbie Timmons and Nancy Hansen did a terrific job of planning fun activities, snacks and prizes for our trip to and from the annual quilt extravaganza.

 Opportunity Quilt

Once we arrived in Ontario, everyone made a dash for the quilts and the vendors, but we all stopped off at some point to admire our very own opportunity quilt.  Robin Sutherland arranged for us to do our white glove service so that we were able to sell tickets for the quilt on Thursday.  Our beautiful quilt, made by Sharon Cooperson, Laurie Paurazas, and their helpers, was a very big hit at the quilt show.

Several of us did our white glove service on Thursday.  It is always fun to talk to people about the beautiful quilts on display.  For several guild members, this was their first white glove service at Road, and everyone was enthusiastic about the experience.  If you have never done this, consider helping out in future quilt shows.

And, of course, everyone went shopping!  Road to California is back in full strength and there were lots of vendors.  We had fun comparing purchases on the bus ride back to Oceanside.  Shannon won bragging rights for the most money spent at Road, with her purchase of a brand new Bernina sewing machine!
