TRANSITION PRESIDENT'S LETTER

It is supposedly an old Chinese curse, “May you live in interesting times.” (It actually originated with an Englishman.)   But you will understand if I say that the last two years as your President have not been dull.  We initiated Zoom meetings during COVID, then re-opened our in-person meetings.  We had to find a new place to meet three times.  I can truthfully say that I wouldn’t have gotten through it without all of you.

Thank you to all of the wonderful board members from both 2021 and 2022 who worked so hard to get this all done.  And thank you to all of our members who volunteer to serve the guild, our committee chairs, committee members, Cuddle volunteers, white glove volunteers, newsletter volunteers, bus trip volunteers and the people who organized and worked at our fund-raising events.  You are all the people who make this guild run.  And you deserve special appreciation for doing all of it during very challenging times.

It has been a pleasure to work with all of you during the past two years.  I have so enjoyed getting to know you all better, and I have appreciated all the support and encouragement you have all given me.  I will cherish the stunning quilt that you gave me, not just as a reminder of two unforgettable years, but especially because so many of you contributed to it and signed it.  It has been an honor to serve as your President.

Linda Stanwood
President, 2021-2022
