WORKSHOPS

Our August workshop is going to be given by Emily Bailey of Aunt Em’s Quilts! She will show you how to substantially reduce your cutting time, and get more accurately cut pieces by using die cutters. Do you have a die cutter that has been sitting on a shelf because you weren’t really sure how to use it properly?? Emily is going to take all the mystery out of using die cutters, and will show you just how fast you can go from preparing your fabric to having a finished work. Spots are available for this workshop, so please sign up on line or at our August guild meeting.

Our September workshop is by Linda Sullivan of Colourwerx. Linda will be teaching us 2 separate techniques so that we can produce our very own TOPAZ quilt! Linda is known for using lots of vivid colors and graphic images in her quilts, and we know this is going to be a fantastic course. This is a great time to step away from your usual color palettes and try something different! Linda always manages to share her enthusiasm for creating fun, even quirky quilts…that are pieced with precision. You will surely stretch your creativity and imagination in this workshop! Be sure to sign up now…we have been getting a lot of interest from folks in other guilds about attending this workshop. It is a first-come, first-served kind of moment!

Don’t forget – We host a Sit & Sew Session at Quilt In A Day on the Monday following our guild meeting. This is a FREE opportunity for all guild members to sew with others. We love having folks bring their special projects to work on, and it is a great way for folks that attended a workshop to actually complete their projects before they turn into a UFO! Our Sit & Sews run from 9:30am – 1:30pm…and then we typically head out for a bite to eat as a group. We would love to have you join us.
